The Pelion,a peninsula that runs out into the Aegean sea,delights its visitors with its chesnut-tree forests,its small traditional villages,its beaches of golden sand as well as its small fishing coves. The village of Kissos,48 km from Volos,550m up in the mountains, is located on the eastern coast within easy reach of both the sea and the mountains.In summer you might be attracted by the beautiful beach of Aghios Ioannis and its deep-blue waters or by the sunny back country.In winter,it's a half-hour's drive to the skiing resort of Hania and its four chairlifts,its ten km of skiing tracks. While skiing down the snow-white peninsula,you can admire the sun- illuminated sea. The means of transport that can get you there,are many and all of them modern.All the trains and coaches that go from Athens to Thessalonique stop in Volos.In summer there are regular charter flights in Volos and in Skiathos,a small Sporades island from which you can also take the overcraft to Aghios Ioannis. Once in Kissos you can explore its plane-tree shaded squares,its XIV century church to remind us that the Byzantine art is still alive.Beyond the Pelion you can drive up to the monasteries perched on peaks and called Meteoras.You can also visit the Sporades islands famous for their rare species of seals and dolphins. The main road that leads to the house takes through the eastern Pelion,from Melies to Zagora.You'll come up to a crossroad that will take you to St Constantin,a hamlet close to Kissos.From there you'll catch sight of the house itself as it overlooks the road to the village. Fortunately there is a parking area close to the main door of the house.

As for the house itself,it's a large traditional building with a stone roof and a 250m² pleasant garden planted with different varieties of trees.There is also an arbor. House's total surface is 200m²,the walls are 80 cm thick.It's composed of a ground floor and a first floor which have the same surface.Downstairs the main door leads into a large hall with a traditional stone floor,there are two windows,its angle sofas make it a room in which you can live and entertain friends.That leads us into a spacy and fitted kitchen whose floor is slightly higher.There is also a bedroom with an old fireplace,the room is large enough for two beds and it occupies the front of the house.A fine bathroom with a basin,a shower ,and toilets as well as another room are also located on the ground floor.This extra room is currently used as a boxroom. A flight of stairs leads you to the first floor into a pomp-room used as a sitting-room.There is a small balcony.Many harmoniously-arched windows embellish the first floor.On the first floor the second bedroom is a front bedroom which is fitted with a cupboard and three beds.there are two other large bedrooms with a fireplace in each,a cupboard and small shelves carved in the wall itself in the back of the house,on the first floor.Between the two bedrooms,there is a large bright bathroom with a bath,toilets,a basin fitted in a marble board. Everything will make your daily life very comfortable-there are grocer's,butcher's,baker's shops close by to provide you with fresh local products.there is new gas central heating as well as an electric-or gas-water heater.

The house overlooks the shiny sea.This very pleasant and comfortable house is the ideal relaxing place for one or two families to enjoy life and pick up again.
